These ponies are inspired by My Little Pony (TM) by Hasbro Inc
I am not affiliated with Hasbro in any way - I'm just a fan! :)

Worsted weight cotton yarn
3.25 mm hook
Gauge not important - as long as the stitches are tight enough so the stuffing doesn't come through!

Final pony will be about 3.25"-3.5" high, depending on if you have a horn and where you mount the legs.

Before starting on the main head/neck/body, prep all of the pieces that will need to be attached.

Mane:
With scrap yarn, Ch 6, tie off
Cut mane-color yarn in 12 four-inch strips
Fasten 2 strips in each chain by tying a knot or using a latch-hook method

Ears:
Ch 3, starting in 1st ch from hook: sl st 1 in each of next 2. Tie off. Repeat for 2nd ear and set aside.

Horn:
Ch 5, starting in 1st ch from hook:
Sl st 1, twist chain toward you
Sl st 1, twist chain toward you
Sl st 1, twist chain toward you
Sl st 1
Tie off, set aside

Wing:
Ch 7
Row 1: starting in 1st ch from hook, sc 1 in each of next 4, sl st 1 in each of next 2
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sl st 1 in each of next 2, sc 1 in each of next 3
Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc 1 in each of next 2, sl st 1 in each of next 2
Row 4: ch 1, turn, sl st 1, sc 1 in each if next 2
Tie off, weave in end (leave starting tail to see onto body)

Eyes:
Option 1 - use plastic or glass doll eyes
Option 2 - cut small circles from black and white craft felt and sew on with needle and thread
Option 3 - use black yarn and yarn needle to stitch an arc (arched up like a bridge for happy closed eyes, or arched down like a smile for sleepy closed eyes.

Legs: (continuous rounds)
Magic loop
Rd 1: in loop, ch 1, sc 5, sl st to join. (6) tighten and tie off starting tail so it doesn't get loose.
Rd 2: in back loops, ch 1, sc around (6)
Rd 3-4: sc around (6)
Rd 5: sc 2 tog, sc 1, sc 2 tog, sc 1 (4)
Now back and forth rows, continuing from round 5:
Row 1: ch 1, turn, sc 1 in each of next 2
Tie off, leaving long tail.

Face: (continuous rounds)
Magic loop
Rd 1: in loop, sc 4 (4) pull tail to tighten loop
rd 2: sc 2 in back loops of each of next 2, sc 1 each of next 2 (6)
*pull tail to tighten loop, tie knot to secure
Rd 3: sc 1, sc 2 in each of next 3, sc 1 in each of next 2 (9)
Rd 4: sc 1 in each of next 2, sc 2 in each of next 5, sc 1 in each if next 2 (14)

Head: (back and forth rows, continuing from face)
Row 1: Ch 1, turn, sc 1 in each of next 12 (13)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc 1 in each of next 12 (13)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc 2 tog, sc 1, sc 2 tog, sc 1, sc 2 tog, sc 1, sc 2 tog, sc 1 (9)

Row 5: ch 1, turn, sc 2 tog x4 (5)
Row 6: ch 1, turn, sc 3 tog, sc 1 (3)

Now turn your work so the head is upside dow and you're working in the chain stitches around the neck, starting at the back of the neck. Each chain counts as a stitch, so the 6 rows on each side, plus 1 stitch from the face, plus the 3 stitches from row 6 of the head = 16.

Neck: (continuous rounds, working from the bottom edge of the head)
Rd 1: [sc 1, sc 2 tog] repeat x 4 (8)
Rd 2: sc around (8)

Rd 4: sc 2 in each of next 3, sc 1 in each of next 6 (12
Rd 5: sc 1 in each of next 2 (stopping almost at back of neck)
**attach mane by pulling each strand through using a yarn needle. Start at the forehead and work back toward the withers, being careful to go in a straight line down the center of the back of the neck. Pull yarn through as much as you can before stuffing the head. The stuffing will keep the mane in place**

Chest: (back and forth rows, continuing from neck)
Row 1: ch 1, turn, sc 1 in each of next 10
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc 1 in each of next 10

Row 5: ch 1, turn, sc 3tog, sc 1

Rd 3: sc 2 tog around (8) **attach back legs, insert stuffing**
Rd 4: sc 2 tog around (4)
Tie off, leaving long tail. Adjust stuffing if needed, use tail to stitch hole closed, the off, weave in ends.
